Legal Counsel – International commercial Law
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced International Commercial Lawyer to join the Legal Department of a diversified group of companies operating across local and international markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex international contracts, advising on cross-border legal issues, and ensuring compliance with relevant international regulations related to communications, licensing, technology transactions, and international commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting & Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of international commercial contracts, including service agreements, licensing deals, joint ventures, technology transfer, and cross-border trade agreements.
- Ensure all contracts comply with Saudi law and relevant international legal frameworks, including those governing data protection, intellectual property, and telecommunications.
- Assist in the creation and ongoing management of international contract templates and legal documentation standards.
Legal Consulting
- Provide expert legal counsel on international commercial law, including communications and trade regulations impacting the group’s global operations.
- Advise on legal risks related to digital business models, cross-border transactions, and IT infrastructure partnerships.
International Legal Relations
- Coordinate with external counsel in various jurisdictions to address international legal risks and ensure enforceability of global contracts.
- Stay updated on global legal developments, including international trade laws, treaties, and regulatory changes impacting the group’s international business.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with departments such as IT, Marketing, Business Development, and Compliance to support international projects from a legal standpoint.
- Represent the group in contract negotiations, dispute resolutions, or legal proceedings related to international matters as needed.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Commercial Law, Business Law or equivalent) is required.
- Master’s Degree or specialization in International Law or Commercial Law is preferred.
Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in international commercial law, with a strong focus on cross-border transactions and contract negotiation.
- Prior work with multinational corporations or international law firms handling global clients.
- Experience in a group holding structure or multi-company environment is an advantage.
Skills:
- Fluent in English (required); Arabic is a strong advantage. Proficiency in French or Chinese is a plus.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and risk analysis skills.
- Strong understanding of international commercial law, trade regulations, and data compliance standards.
- Ability to manage complex legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
